AFC Women’s Football Day celebrated at Kahaani!

On the special occasion of Women’s Day, Kahaani Sports Academy celebrated AFC Women’s Football Day to promote women’s football in Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad: Kahaani Sports Academy organized fun activities to celebrate Women’s Football Day on Thursday evening. AFC Women’s Football Day is celebrated every year on 8th March, on the special occasion of Women’s Day.

It is designed to recognise, celebrate and promote the development of women’s football. The objective is to celebrate the day by engaging more women in football.

Kahaani celebrated the day keeping the same objective in mind. The event was celebrated simultaneously at all the coaching centres of Kahaani (KASA, Bakeri & Ghuma). A total of 14 fun-filled activities were planned for the day. These activities included 5v5 Football, Penalty shootout, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, agility test, etc. All the coaches and staff members of Kahaani made sure that nobody left the event without having fun.

Girls and women from different age-groups attended the event with full enthusiasm and energy. A total of 300 girls and women (approx.) attended the event and enjoyed a lot.

Young girls showed great enthusiasm and energy before the start of the event as well as throughout the event. The fun packed event witnessed kids participating in various activities to boost their interest in football.

The team of Kahaani Sports Academy was behind the success of the event. The coaches and ground staff of Kahaani gave their best to see that everyone enjoyed the event. One of the participants said, “Football in Gujarat needs recognition as a professional career for athletes but Women’s football needs even more attention. Girls from early age should be encouraged to take up football. Events like these are surely one way to achieve that.”

Overall, it was a successful event for Kahaani across all the three coaching centres. Our academy is always happy to contribute in every way possible to promote football and lift its status as a sport. Rather we feel it is our duty to do that as a sports academy.
